Okay, it’s mid way through July now, can we just pretend it’s not? It’s the 1st of the month and this post is totally on time?! Yes? Thankyou. (I’ll try better next month, promise)
Firstly, how on earth is it July already?! George is almost two and a half, and I’ve been faffing around with this little blog for almost 6 months! I’d like to have thought my favourites would have become more summery by this point in the year, but with the wettest June on record, that’s sadly not the case.
To start things off I’ve decided to cut down on the content of these favourites posts. I’ve a tendency to blabber about things I enjoy and they were getting a bit long, I’m sure you noticed. So I’m limiting each of us to only one fave! Here’s a few things our little family were loving in May.
My favourite this month has been Bruce & Luke’s coffee. You’re not a true parent blogger until you’ve professed your love for caffeine so here goes. This stuff is bloody delicious! The difference between this and instant coffee is so real it’s ridiculous. Bruce and Luke own a cafe in my hometown, Carlisle, called Foxes and we really enjoy going on a weekend for breakfast or a little coffee and cake treat. George is a big fan of the toddler-head-size muffins, and we’re happy to sit there and knock back a few tasty coffees while he covers himself in crumbs/chocolate/milkshake. They roast their own beans which makes it stand out from other cafes for me, and their coffee is available to buy in the cafe as well as online here. I’d recommend the Espresso Blend!

April is my favourite month, with my birthday right in the middle and the lovely Spring weather starting to kick in, I always feel like April brings me out of my post-Christmas funk. Obviously my dreams of nicer weather haven’t really come true this year, but we’ve had a lovely month and here are the things that we’ve particularly enjoyed!
It’s that time again, the end of the month brings another round of favourites! I actually can’t believe it’s the end of March already, and here I am still hoping for a hint of Spring sunshine. I struggled a bit to come up with our favourites this month because we’ve not been using/doing that many things that are actually new, but a chat with my other half has jogged my memory so here goes:
You all know the drill – a monthly favourites post is a staple of the blogging world that doesn’t need much introduction. But I did think I’d try and put a little bit of a twist on it, I thought I’d do a combined family favourites rather than just make it all about me. So there’ll be two favourites each from myself and George but also a family and couple favourite just to make things a bit more accessible to any non-parent/male readers out there.
My favourites this month are a bit of a mix; fashion and books.
Clark’s Black Leather Chelsea Boots
I am strictly of the opinion that you can’t go wrong with an ankle boot. Whether it be black, tan, suede, leather, heeled or flat, they are a classic wardrobe staple and if money allowed I would have a wardrobe full. When I was a teenager I remember thinking Clark’s shoes were so uncool and I would’ve had a full on meltdown if my Mum had suggested we buy my school shoes from there. I don’t know if I was just being an ignorant brat or if Clark’s designs have had a recent makeover but I LOVE the shoes in there at the moment. They’re well made and substantial, no more leaking soles or worn down heels after a couple of months of wear, these things last. My Mum bought me a lovely pair of black leather heeled Chelsea Boots in the Clark’s sale just before Christmas, they’re sadly out of stock now, but there’s plenty left that are similar and I’d really recommend checking them out if you’re in the market for a new pair of boots.
